Q. What is the best way for me to communicate with my sponsored child?

A. The quickest and easiest way is to email child's-name@pagusafrica.org. We forward the email to the school where they print it out and give to your child. For photos or other items that need to go by post, the mailing address is:

Child's Name
c/o Bishop Forson School Complex
Private Mail Bag 11
Kpando - Torkor, Volta Region
Ghana, W. Africa

Your child would love to hear from you, so please write.

Q. I want to send a gift to my child. What do they need and what do you recommend?

A. Gifts are not expected but always appreciated, of course. Children usually ask for text books, school supplies an extra uniform, or money for school trips (if they are old enough and have earned the privilege to be invited). Many children ask for storybooks and art supplies, too. It makes best sense to purchase these and most any other items in Ghana. Our volunteers are happy to do that for you. A gift of $25 can purchase a uniform, health insurance, summer school classes and supplie.

If you want to make an extra gift to your child or your child's class, please feel free to call or email us with your ideas.

Ready to make your gift now? click here or send a check along with note about how you would like it to be spent. Please make checks out to Pagus and mail them to:
Pagus:Africa
619 W. Washington Street
Norristown, PA 19401.

Q. What if I want to mail package? Can I do that?

A. Because postage to Ghana is expenseive, slow and unreliable, we do not recommend shipping packages to the school. We have also learned that they must pay duty on the other end, so if you do choose to mail a package, be sure to alert us in advance to make the necessary arrangements.

Q. Can you carry a small gift and give it to my child when you visit?

A. Yes. Whenever we have a trip plan we try to alert our community so you can send us or drop off small gifts, letters or other items. As long as we have room in our suitcase, we are more than happy to do this.

Q. What if I want to make a bigger shipment, is that possible?

A. We have a shipper that we recommend because he has been reliable and is reasonably priced. Once again, arrangements must be made to cover the costs for shipping to Ghana and to also get them from the shipper to the child/school. Contact us to make these arrangements. We are also happy to help make sure those items you send will be correctly distributed and used.
