Monitor, mentor, and tutor children in Ghana. Get to know students and their families, and improve communication and commitment to learning. You will assess the children and their development, help them understand their connection to their sponsors, help them write letters that are expressive and ensure that photos and school reports are sent each term. You will also help ensure they have the supplies necessary to succeed.
Qualifications/ Desired Traits: The individual should be self-starting, highly-motivated, reliable, and love kids. Creative thinking and problem solving skills are especially useful. Good communication skills are essential to work in this community, for reporting purposes to the Executive Director, and to get the most out of this experience.
Counseling and/or teaching experience is desirable but not required.
Accommodations: There may be multiple options such as living with a family, in a guest house or in a rental unit. We are currently looking for land near the school to construct volunteer and teacher housing.
