Programs

2022 group of students

Pagus:Africa’s programs are designed to fit the needs of the youth and to assist in the development of their communities. The impacts?  At-risk youth who are facing deep-rooted challenges are emerging as confident leaders with hearts and minds that are bringing positive changes. Communities are healthier and students are gaining essential skills.

Rigorous programs

Our programs encourage critical thinking, creative expression, and social awareness while addressing gaps in academic & technical skills, personal growth & leadership experience, and community health & sustainability.

Path to Success Program

Our signature Path to Success program provides students ages 15-26 with education, practical experience, and mentorship in addition to financial assistance with school fees and supplies. It provides opportunities and supports young people to reach their full potential. Learn More

Literacy

English is the national language of Ghana, but not the mother tongue. To succeed, children require proficiency in English. Through  phonics, storytelling, songs and other activities, Pagus is helping students gain the necessary skills during our vacation reading camps and in all the classes we teach.

Computer Literacy

Computer literacy is a requirement for success. We provide access to computers and the instruction on how to use them at our Center for Achievement and at rural schools. In 2022 we acquired 26 new laptops so more students could have a hands-on experience and to pilot a computer lab at one of our partner schools.

Creative Arts

Pagus’ creative arts programs  help empower our student-interns and the students they teach in the classroom, at our camps, and in our youth clubs. Exploring new materials and learning new skills is empowering – as each student gains the confidence to express themselves. We recycle materials where possible, so along with self-expression, we stress environmental impact.

Youth Clubs

Youth Clubs provide a safe environment to talk about serious subjects and enjoy fun activities. Girls clubs help girls to advocate for themselves and each other. Boys are learning about what gender equality means and helps them face the challenges they are presented with in their daily lives.

Health & Sanitation

CFA collaborates with rural communities to engage in practical projects that implement clean water solutions and practical and affordable hand-washing stations. Educational programs promote social distancing, distribution of face masks and other healthy practices.

Vacation Camps

Camps are offered twice each year, to promote literacy, community, character, and creativity. Campers are engaged in fun activities that embolden them to explore the world and discover the things that delight them.
